  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Offered is this very nice, estate fresh from the Lakes region of north-central NH from a finely appointed Lake Winnipesaukee vacation retreat, mid-late 19th c Imari Japanese hnd pntd, dec lg 15 1/2" in diameter porcelain cer charger, feat a limited color palette of ultramarine blue dk & lt, as well as lt & dk Mandarin orange. The hnd pntd int of the prcln cer charger's int, as well as the outer margins of its banded edge circumnavigating the scenery, is a romanticized, fantastic landscape, possibly only existing in a dream, complete w/several abstract, raging waterfalls, trees, distant mountain peaks, a river & a pr of cranes taking flight over the scene, w/one crane looking down at the scene, possibly acknowledging the noise & power of the waterfalls below. It's stamped w/a Japanese calligraphic maker's stamp in orange in the lower L. An earlier, limited palette, blue & orange glzd hnd pntd Imari Japanese porcelain charger. Lg & very handsome. Nice

    featuring a limited color palette of ultramarine blue dark and light, as well as light and dark Mandarin orange. The hand painted interior of the porcelain ceramic charger's basin, as well as the outer margins of its banded edge circumnavigating the scenery, is a romanticized, fantastic landscape, possibly only existing in a dream, complete with several abstract, raging waterfalls, trees, distant mountain peaks, a river and a pair of cranes taking flight over the scene, with one crane looking down at the scene, possibly acknowledging the noise, sheer beauty and power of the waterfalls below.
