Description
I have these five pair of eyeglasses from my father and probably my grandfather. The first one is a pair of eyeglasses that has metal frames, the arms are bent and I have not attempted to straighten them. This has very thin wire frames. I have indicated a small chip in the left lens near the nose piece. I think these are my grandfather's ( born 1890's) and are the oldest of the glasses that I am selling. I remember my grandfather wearing eyeglasses similar or the same as these. He died in 1965.
PLEASE see photos.
The three pairs of foldable sunglasses I believe are from WWII era and might have been Army issued.
They each fold together and fit into their leather cases. They all have clips on them to attach to fit over regular eyeglasses. These clip-on glasses and their cases are in good vintage condition, though the leather cases show some wear. I have not attempted to snap the cases closed.
Please
see photos.
The leather case for the pair of sunglasses that shows some corrosion, does have a split in the stitching near the bottom of the pouch.
Please see photos
. On the leather case that I can read, it says “American Cool-Ray sunglasses”.
The last item Is very unusual and don’t know much about this item. They are two separate pieces and they fit into a metal (tin?) case with hinge.
The lens are dark, surrounded by hard metal mesh, with holes on both sides ( near nosepiece and near outer where the temple frames would fit). I don’t know what they were used for but must be something unusual. Perhaps a safety measure? Steampunk safety glasses? Please note the small tear? in the mesh on one of the eyepieces. There is some slight rust? on the metal surrounding the mesh.
Please inspect photos carefully.
I would be happy to provide additional photos if necessary.
I am providing free shipping.
They are from my smoke-free, air conditioned home.
Thank you for your interest and consideration!
