Vintage Tex Tan Hereford Western Saddle-15" Suede Deep Seat-Excl. Cond.

I've had this saddle since it was new and has Very little use...excellent condition. This was Tex Tan's Pleasure & All-Around Saddle, "The Western Belle" model made in Sept. 1970, I contacted Hereford to get the exact date. . The saddle leather is completely tooled in floral design, has Ralide tree-Gullet is 6-3/4" High & 6" Wide Semi Qt. Horse Bars. Deep set 3" seat that offers back support, 15" brown quilted suede, foam rubber padding with 1" riser & 1-1/2" Cheyenne Roll. Rigging has double skirting, steel plates in front & reinforced slots in rear skirting for rear cinch. The skirts are square with round corners, 2 front dee's for breast strap, leather covered 1-1/2" wide, Quick Change fender length adjustment with 14-1" marked holes for lots of choices.
I've owned 4 of this type saddle, used for pleasure, trail and game shows and they have held up wonderfully. This saddle I only used for parades which is why it has very little use, always kept in the house & oiled several times a year...the leather is excellent...no cracking. I never really got the saddle broken in so is still a little stiff. I liked the use of screws instead of nails or staples like some saddle have, secure quality. The screws allow you to remove or loosen when oiling to get deep down. I found this style adaptable to all body styles of horse...high withered or wide...just adjust the padding and the saddle never slipped. I personally loved the suede down the sides and high rise in front because both kept me secure in the saddle when running game shows. Very comfortable when pleasure riding and flashy enough for show. Everything about this saddle proves Tex Tan's commitment to quality...you would not be disappointed. If you'd like more info please let me know and I do have more pics. Only minor flaw is a little discolored at the very top edge of the seat back...can most likely sand that out, see pics. The saddle weighs 30-35 lbs.
